OM Zone 432 HZ CD – By Steven Halpern

According to the ancient spiritual traditions of India, OM is the primordial vibration that is the harmonic building block of our 3-dimensional world.

For millennia, people have chanted this mantra to enhance attunement with the quantum field in meditation and yoga practice. What makes this album unique is that it is tuned to a harmonic of the Earth’s natural resonance  ( A=432 Hz )rather than the current universal standard frequency of A=440 Hz.

In Bach’s day, orchestras were tuned to a lower pitch than current ones. A growing number of researchers suggest that music tuned to a harmonic of Earth’s dominant harmonic, the Schumann resonance of 7.83 Hz ( cycles per second) would yield even greater healing potential.

Scientists like Dr. Andrijah Puharich and Itzhak Bentov have measured the frequency of energy coming off healer’s hands at 8 Hz.  Using this rounded-off figure, to determine the associated frequency of the keynote of C, relative to A, one simply doubles the fundamental several octaves.

Thus, C = 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 which relates to A= 432 Hz.

OM ZONE 432 began as a personal research project. Would listening to the OM mantra tuned to the Schumann fundamental feel different than listening to the standard tuning.  ( After all, it’s much easier to chant OM a little lower than usual than to return a grand piano to 432 !)

I can now report that I’ve been quite pleasantly surprised. I can indeed feel the subtle difference. It is much more obvious than with the musical samples I’ve heard on some of the leading websites.

I invite you to experience the difference for yourself on this new recording.

When you listen to any of the samples, however, you may find that it is hard to ‘clear your audio palette’, just as wine tasters have trained themselves to do with wine. Whichever version you l listen to first will often influence how you perceive the second sample. I started listening on separate days, rather than one version right after the other.

Intention Behind the Recording –
My intention in producing this recording is to create an uplifting meditative soundscape that can be listened to as background, or as a ‘spiritual karaoke’ soundtrack, a virtual yoga choir that supports you in chanting OM or other mantras.(Most people find that chanting by oneself can get somewhat boring fairly quickly.)

OM ZONE 432 Hz features stellar solo improvisations by Grammy nominated chant master Silvia Nakkach (tracks 3 and 5) as well as my duet with her on track 1. Melissa Phillippe is featured on track 12 and on our duet on track 12.

Alternating tracks offer ambient OM choirs suitable for more meditative listening or for you or your  yoga class to chant along with. Several  tracks feature ocean waves or Tibetan bowls.

Cymatics Imagery –
The Cymatics research of Dr. Hans Jenny demonstrated that when OM is chanted into a steel plate covered with sand, the sand forms a geometric image of interlacing triangles universally known as the Sri Yantra.
